2. Travelling Folk - Weirs and Coons

   

   Roinn Roinn Postáil

   The Weirs come at varying intervals. They make their living by selling tin-cans, porengers, and tin-wares. Sometimes they travel in caravans but usually they go on foot and sleep in the open. The people of Ballyshannon call them tinkers.

   The Coons are almost the same as the Weirs.
