    Most people would not flit on Saturday because they say that “Saturday’s flit is a short sit. An old rhyme says, Monday for wealth.
    Tuesday for health,
    And Wednesday the best day of all,
    Thursday for losses,
    Friday for crosses,
    And Saturday no luck at all.
    Masons would not start house building at the end of the week because they thought it unlucky. Farmers always tried to have the seed in before the cuckoo comes. Some old farmers planted their potatoes on Fridays because they thought it lucky. Women believed that Tuesday was lucky to put down eggs for hatching.
