- The cure for a sty is to get ten gooseberry thorns and make the Sign of the Cross over the sty with each one and then point them at the sty for three days. Then bury the thorns and when the thorns rot the sty will go away.
- The people say there is a lost church in Ballinacarrick in Kirkpatrick’s land on the south side of Ballyshannon. Nobody knows the exact spot but the old people think it is somewhere about a little quarry of loose stones, because Mr. Breslin found teeth in the place.
