- There are two forges in Dundrum. There is one situated at the Dundrum roads. The other is situated at the railway bridge. The names of the smiths in Dundrum are Mr Nolan and Mr Hanlon.Instead of calling the place where a smith works a forge, it is sometimes called a smithy.A smith has got to use a bellows, a big pair of pliers, a horn shaped knife, an anvil and a file.The door is shaped like an ordinary door.There are stories connected with forges.If you are looking into a forge and you see the sparks flying about.
