Monkstown Castle
The ruins of Monkstown Castle are to the right of "The Widow Gamble's Hill." The walls are from three to five feet thick. The castle is said to be haunted. Nuns are to be seen looking over the walls between the hours of twelve and three o'clock at night.
There is a passage of eighty steps leading to the top of the castle. The castle belonged to Cistersian Monks. It was built about 1170. There is passage from the castle to the Church,.
