  1. The nearest cemetery to this place is Kilbride, which is situated about two, and a half miles from here.
Some people do not use the graveyard in the parish where they are living, but they like to go to their own family burial ground, to be buried with their own relations, but others use the one which is nearest to them.
Most of the tomb stones in it are made of cut stones, and others are made of granite.
Nearly every grave in it is kept very neat, and tidy, by planting trees, shrubs, or flowers on them.
There was once a man who used to go every night to his neighbour's house to mitch.
They used to be always telling him ghost stories to make him afraid to go home, as they thought.
So one night they took a corps from a graveyard, and placed it upon the ditch, where he would be crossing it, they lits candles, and laid them upon it.
But when he was crossing the ditch he took up a candle, and lit his pipe with, and he had a good smoke.
Then he went his way, and wasnt afraid, and his neighbours were disappointed.
