    love to give the little baby a gift but his mother did not answer. He ran out to the garden where he dug up a tree from its roots and took it to the Manger. The baby raised his hand to it and presently a tree laden with berries stood before him.

  2. It is a great custom among the villagers to make up a good fire when going to bed, set the table and prepare a good meal for the Holy Souls, as their mothers did before them. The house must be neat and clean.
    It is said that souls that are not at rest appear to their own people this night.
