    trust in God. They were healthier and stronger than the people of today. There were often old men and women who had cures. Sixty years ago an old woman named Mrs. Byrne used to lift men's breast-bones. She saved the lives of many young men who were in decline.
    Yellow turnips (raw) were a cure for coughs and bad chests. The turnips were sliced very thinly and put in a basin with sugar, then they pressed down with a plate and this would make a syrup. The syrup was the cure.
    Marsh Mallows boiled for hours were great for stupes.
    Boiled celery was great for rheumatism. The old people drank the boiled celery water.
