  1. There are at least three holy wells in our Parish. There is one of these in the town of Swords situated off the main road. This is known as St. Colmcille's well. It is said that St. Colmcille stepped from the square tower and where his foot landed water sprang up. This well is supposed to have the cure for sore eyes.
There is another holy well about three miles from Swords near a place called Feltrim. This is known as St. Werburgh's well. It is supposed to cure people with pains. People drink the water of these wells and use it. Relics such as medals, pieces of cloth, buttons and money are left by people who visit these wells. These wells are not visited on certain days. The Saints that are connected with these wells are St. Colmcille and St. Werburgh.
