Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Swords was once a walled city and boasted of monasteries and castles the ruins of which still remain. This little village existed when some of the great cities of to day were a mass of green fields unheard of and unknown.
One of these monasteries was founded by St. Colm Cille who is our patron Saint and to make it even more interesting, it is said Brian Boru was waked there on his way from the battle of Clontarf to Armagh. Twice it was attacked first by the Danes and then by Cromwell who blew the roof off.
