- There was once a man ploughing a field at St. Navee's graveyard in Malverton, Skerries. St. Navee reprimanded him for ploughing too close to the graveyard telling him that it would be worse for him if he continued to do so. The reply the man made was "St, Navee here or St, Navee there Ill plough my sod where'er I go" At that, St, Navee made the Sign of the Cross on the man, and a s soon as he did so the ground opened and swallowed both horse, plough and man.
The hole is still there to be seen. A friend of mine has a moat in his field and if he ever ploughs near it he is sure to break some part of the machine. He thinks the spot is enchanted.- Bailitheoir
