    About fifty years ago there lived on the strand of Passage East two old women named Honour and Mary Browne. They lived on the Strand in a small hut. They way they used to live was each morning to go to the edge of the sea and gather up what the sea carried in.
    One morning Honour heard a crying voice outside the house. She went out and there she saw a curlew flying over the house. While she was out the house took fire. They blessing she gave to the Curlew was that its nest should never be found.
    From that day forward a curlew's nest has never been found in the neighbourhood of Passage.
