Marsh of the Pillar Stone.It is related that Fionn and Oscar standing challenged one another to a contest in stone-throwing. Oscar cast first and the stone flung by him may still be seen (a small Dallán) in a field on the east side of Youghal road in Carnglas townland.
The pillar stone from which the present sub-division is named was cast by Fionn and there in a mountain patch it still stands.The pillar stone is of brown sandstone 4 x 32 x 2(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
