There is an old graveyard named Mocollop two miles from Ballyduff.
There are old tombstones there dating back to the fifteenth century. Another graveyard is called Cill Bán. Unbaptised children are buried there up to the present time.
It was customary to take a child suffering from rickets to this graveyard, before the sun would rise in the morning, and to dig up the earth with a black handled knife and rub the clay on the child making the sign of the cross with it.
Whoever takes the child there, must not speak to any(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
