  1. Once upon a time there was a water horse seen in Cashel lake. At a certain time he came out before the people got up in the morning to eat a feed of grass. Then he disappeared. This was caused owing to a make, a colt, & a foal being in a field near a lake. The owner took the mare to the town and when he returned he put the mare in the field and struck her own bridal [bridle]. Then the three ran straight into the lake were never seen again.
