- We have forty six hens. They lay better in the Summer then in the Winter. We feed them with oats and boiled potatoes mixed with meal. We feed them twice a day in Summer and three times a day in Winter.
We have many different kinds of hens. They are Rhode Island Reds, Black Monorcas, Wyndottes, Barrocks, Sussex and Leghorns. When going to hatch eggs we get a box and put some clay in the bottom and then we put some hay or straw over the clay and make a nice comfortable nest.
