    When the French landed in Killala. They were being entertained by some of the Irish when some of the English returned again and wreaked vengence on the people.
    Some of the Irish who were on the Rathfran side of the river were killed. Among those who were killed was my great grand-uncle Pat Barrett. Himself and his brother
