- There grow good crops of potatoes in this district.
The potato crop is put down in Spring before any other crop.
The people first plough the land and then harrow it. They make drills with the horse and plough, they put out manure on the bottom of the drills and then plant the potatoes, and cover them with the clay from the sides of the drills.
When the stalks come up above the clay, they scuffle the "shoughs" and then mould them with the plough.
After a few weeks more, they are sprayed with blue stone and washing-soda to prevent(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
