- There is a river that flows between Carrowmore and Foghill. In years gone by it was a great river for salmon. A man named Mahon was fishing in the river one day, when a man walked up to him and said. "Are you catching much fish?." I have just got one," said the fisherman. "Give him to me " said the man.
The fisherman said the next one I will catch I will give him to you. The next one he caught was much larger than the first and the fisherman would not part with him.
