- Making Birdcradles
A square flame is made by nailing four thin boards in the form of a square. Then four shorter sticks are nailed over these making the cradle higher and narrower. This is carried on until the cradle is finished.
A fork kind of bramble without any knots and a thick sallyrod and a weak sallyrod are then got. By means of these sticks the birdscradle is set and when a bird sees the crumbs and worms which are placed in under the cradle he is enticed to enter it. The thick sallyrod which also serves as a perch is also a springy tongue. When the bird stands on this tongue the cradle falls over him and he is caught unharmed.Bow and Arrow.
