- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)McNulty, a neighbour of Walshe's was the man to kill the eel.
When McNulty was returning from salmon fishing one morning Michael Walshe and his father came before him and told him the dream. The three went to Poll Dubh where young Walshe without hesitation pointed out the spot where the gold should be. They dug for some time but water burst in on their digging so they found nothing.
Though the episode was the subject of much merriment in the place at the time the majority of the people still believe in the Poll Dubh treasure. - She has four feet to walk on:
She walks upon none
She seeks for her fortune
Before she comes home

Standing in a hall
Out comes the red cow
And licks them all
