I have asked several times for any other historical events connected with this family. They still have vestments and an old chalice in their possession. I understand there is a book containing the history of the family and this I made some attempts to get it. I haven't succeeded in doing so. Last I heard was, that the book is in the possession of Mrs Baldwick - (Miss McDonnell) who lives in England. I hope to be able to procure a photograph of this monument.
N.B. The old man mentioned is Jack Gallagher aged about 65. He maintains the cross is an emblem of the rejoicing over Catholic Emancipation.

  2. In Gloshpatrick graveyard there were a few old stones with peculiar marks and strokes on them. It is not possible to decipher what language they are. The flags were taken some time ago by the County Council and put in a tunnel near Belclare river. Some of the local people were not too pleased over this, as they reverenced the flags from their connection with the ancient graveyard.
