- It was once the custom in this locality the first time that a cow was milked after having calved to put three halfpence, a pinch of salt and some garlic into the vessel that the milk is put into.
Another custom was to bring [?] a hot coal and to make the sign of the Cross over the cow's back with the coal. A man and a woman have to do this in their turn three times.
