  1. From the Mass Rock can be seen the ruins of an old church beyond hte road in the townland of Knockatemple. This is one of the famous old churches of Kildacamog. It is commonly called "Sam." Another name by which it is known is "Teampuill Ceathramhad an leicín"
The walls are strongly built and in a good state of preservation. The space is ten by five yards. There are several window openings some of cut stone. Tradition does not mention the founder. There is a graveyard attached. It is now used for the burial of unbaptised children. Between forty and fifty years ago an inscribed stone, broken in two parts, lay on the ground, inscription upwards at the western door. Local tradition says that the Ormstong family, then living in Ballinamore, Kiltimagh, removed it to Ballinamore.
