- Mrs. Morley told me of an old school that was behind at the "Lough." The name of the teacher was Mí Arth h-Aodha. He was a middle aged man when he was in Loughkeeran. The school was not a mixed school. Only boys went to him. He went home with one of his scholars for one night and he went with another for another night and so on until every scholar had fed and housed him. Then he left and went to the next district. The school he taught in was a barn. They were very good teachers that time. That teacher was cross and slapped them. He spoke Irish in school. They were good scholars too. They used spelling books and quills for writing. They sat on the floor.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
