    There was once a hare that was supposed to be enchanted. One morning in May, there was an old woman seen milking all the cows. There were a good many men looking at her. When she saw them, she changed herself into a hare, and ran off.
    The men got a good many hounds, and they went after her. The hounds were up to her all the time, but they could not catch her. There was a small cottage in the side of a hill, and she
