  1. There are not may old roads now because the way they were made was always a near cut through the bogs or some soft ground and they were made newly for the opportunity of the motor cars.
    There was a road by my house and it went through the villages of Cappagh, Sgardán, Ballinaclougha and Raith. It was known as 'Bóthar na gCrann' because on each side of it there were trees. There is not a trace it now, but here and there are trees in lines and in other places there are deep tracks like a road.
    There was another road going by the school and it went through Tooreen and it passed by Doyle's fort, but it was not used much on account of the Bualey hills
