  1. In the year eighteen thirty nine there was a great wind. It was so bad that it blew the sea water thirty five Irish miles over the land. It also a great many trees in Logboy wood which were never taken away, some of them which were never taken away, some of them are to be found to-day sunk down into the earth, and others are to be found lying up against other trees with several names and dates carved on them, but as the trees are getting rotten the people cannot trace back some of the dates.
