  1. The music long ago differed much from the music of the present day. They had no such instruments as gramophones like the people of today. The only instruments they had were the Bag-pipes, violens, and flutes. There would be a man in the village that would be able to play on the bag-pipes. Everyone was nearly able to play on the flutes and violens, but it was a bit difficult to play on the bag-pipes. Long ago there were some fine hummers and dancers. They were much better dancers than they are to-day. The most of the music long ago consisted of humming. If there was any people who could hum a tune they would start off and after a while a band of people would join in. The hummers were much easier to dance with than by the violens or bag-pipes. The music appeared to be much more clare [?]
