  1. People began to wear boots long ago at about the age of sixteen years.
    There are some people who never wore boots. The children leave off during the Summer months.
    There is no belief connected with the water that is used for washing the feet.
    Boots are made and repaired locally. There are four shoemakers in this district, and there names are John McNamary, Jon McDonnell, Pat Walsh and Michael Walsh. Their fathers were not shoemakers. There are not as many shoemakers now as there were long ago. Clogs are worn by a great number of people now. They are made locally. Leather was never made in this district.
