Three hundred years ago there was a battle in the Village of Redfod.
It was held beside a river and the river flows through the village. The village gets its name from that river.
There were hundreds of people killed at that battle and it was overflown with blood.
The old people also say that there is a pot of gold buried in the river and there is a fairy always watching the river in case somebody would steal the gold. Michael Lyons told me the story. He is seventy years old.
    The village is called Ath-Deárg.
