    used to have porridge or potatoes when they came from their visit they would roast potatoes and eat them with a grain of salt and some buttermilk or sometimes water.
    The first time tea became known in the district it was only the old people that used it on certain feast days also before cups became common wooden vessels were used called "Noggins".
