    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    Long ago there were a lot of old houses. These houses were thatched. The thatch was got from straw. They also used scallops. These were got from sally rods. Over the fireplace was made morter and cement. The fire was made of turf and timber. The floor was made of clay trodden into the ground.
    Some of the houses were without any chimney. They had round roofs. The fire was placed in the centre of the floor. They had holes in the roofs to let out the smoke.
