Ar an leathanach seo

There is a great difference between food nowadays and long ago. At that time they only ate three meals a day the breakfast, dinner and supper. For the breakfast they had eaten bread and a noggin of milk and sometimes the breakfast consisted of potatoes and milk. They usually worked a few hours before their breakfast.
For their dinner the had potatoes and a "súbóg" which was gravy made by heating the tongs and melting lard with it. Sometimes also they had fish, because it was very plentiful and two or more herrings could be got for a penny. During lent they used a big fish called "[?]" which was about four feet long and it was bought for a shilling.
During the meal the father and mother sat at the table and there was a "scib" left on the top of a pot and it was called the "round table" and the children sat around it while eating their dinner.
For the supper the had oatmeal stirabout and milk, or sheeps milk, ot sour shearns, which was made by putting
