    The people thought that the teachers were very clever, but they were not as well trained as the teachers nowadays.

The son began "a lot of black things and a lot of them in it" and he kept saying that for some time, and the father thought he was a great reader so he said to his wife. "Begorra, Biddy, education is a fine thing, I think we will make a priest out of Paddy."
