John Connor (50), RathredmondThe Borrowed Days
Long ago there an old strawberry cow that was very lean and thin. She used to get sick very often. One very severe winter came and the cow was in a miserable condition. January and February came and went but the cow still lived. Then came March. Every body thought March would kill her. The last three days of March came, but the cow, altho' very sick, still rallied. March was determined to kill the cow, so it borrowed three days from April and those days killed the old cow. These three days are called Riabac days. Sometimes they are called the three borrowed days and sometimes Caece Nato Reabace. Delicate men and beasts often die during these days.Patrick Masterson, Manulla [?]
