  2. What follows I gathered together in Louisburg on Holidays in August.
    There were until lately two persons living in Louisburg "who had cures"(this being the usual expression). One is dead now and his secret is dead with him.
    These cures consisted of plasters they made themselves chiefly of herbs, generally mixed with butter or 'Goose-grease'. But the precise formula is the secret of those who have the cures. "They are the sole repositories of their secrets and they shall die with them."
