  1. Spades were made by Tommie Butler 70 or 80 years ago in the house where Lizzie Cahill now lives. Spades were made by his father and grandfather before him and bad spades they made but they made them anyway. Forty years ago they gave up shade making when the shop spades came in. Butler made pot hooks and planes" but I never heard they made ploughs.
