    Hunting - I was hunting another night down in Shanoule. 'Twas a grand moonlight night. Well, 'twasn't raley bright. There was a full moon up but there was clouds over it. I hunted away for a good while and I had five or six rabbits killed. I was coming on up to a gate in the corner of the field and the dogs were on the devil of a hot scent. They tore up mad towards the gate, and when they got to the gate they came back with their tails between their legs and no matter what I'd do with them they wouldn't stir from me heels for the rest of the night. So begob I had to come home. I could get no good of them. But, mustn't they have seen something when they come to the gate? And they weren't cowardly dogs they'd face anything. But whatever they saw at the gate , it wasn't anything good.
