  1. There is a fort at the Glen gate down the road from the school. There is another at Pendyscross and at Burnfort. The local name for them is "fort". They are circular in shape. There are two ditches around them: between each ditch there is a trench which was full of water to guard the fort. In the centre there is a small hole. Nobody ever went down these holes.
