Thunderstorm. In the year 1911, 29th July a fearful thunderstorm occurred in the district of Tallow. This thunderstorm did an immense amount of damage. It killed sheep and frightened both man and beast. Trees were uprooted and barks of trees were burned off.

Floods. About seventy years ago there was a large flood which carried the bridge of the River Bride down the river. It was supposed to be the biggest flood for centuries. There was a gentleman living at one time in Lisfinny Castle and he owned the inches by the River Bride. He had a lot of cattle in the inches and he ordered a
