    Local Marriage Customs
Shrove Tuesday was a great day for getting married. May is regarded as an unlucky month to get married, and Friday is a bad day for getting married. The bride usually gives a fortune. To the Brides house the marriage feast takes place. Straw boys do not go to houses after the marriage. When the people come out of the Church after being married they are cheered by the people who stand outside.
