    and that the talk of raths being dangerous was only so much eye-wash. A few o' the lads around commenced to think he was right, and a lot of raths were going to be ploughed the next year if everything went right.
    But when the turnip thinning came around any-way a few people started to thin the turnips in the rath field and the noticed that every time they went over the rath now -an'-again they would hear a sort of a hiss an' a small stone wold bury itself in the ground along side of 'em. This only happened when they were on the rath and when they got on the level field again
