  1. Once upon a time there was an auld soldier whose name was Jerry living in Grange. Jerry used to go to the public house every time he had any money to spend, and sometimes it would be one or two o'clock in the morning when he got home. An odd time one or the other of the neighbours would ask Jerry if he ever met any ghosts on his way home because the road had the name of being haunted. But Jerry did not put any "Seem" in auld yarns like them and always said the only time he ever happened on spirits was in "the pub"
