  1. Around this area there are many forges. A few miles out of the town there is an old man named, Mr. J. Monaghan. He still works and he is 72 years of age. His father made "pikes" for the old Irish soldiers.
    In the town there are two forges, Mr. P. Ffrench and Mr. P. Kelly. Both shoe horses and cart wheels. They also mend farming implements and make fire grates, gates and many other things.
