    from the edge of the trench start digging another trench, putting the clay out of it in the other trench with the potatoes in it.
    When the potatoes come up you dig between each trench and make drills. Some people sow cabbage plants between the trenches.
    "British Queens", "Kerrs Pink", and "Epicures" are the principle seed that are sowen here. Potatoes generally grow well here but you sometimes find "Soapy" potatoes.
    The farmers who sow large quatities of potatoes open the drills with ploughs. They also use hand-manure.
