The local Saint of this locality is Saint Brigid She tended sheep on the Curragh of Kildare where a short story is told where she asked a man who owned the Curragh to give her some ground The man said "I will give you as much that your cloak will cover" But the cloak spread til it covered the whole Curragh
    Saint Brigid is styled the "Mary of the Gael" Her well is situated about a hundred and fifty yards beyond Kilcullen Parish Church.
