    Old Schools
There was an old school in Castle Martin Castle. The monks taught the pupils in little cells. General Dundes raided the monastery in search of the abbot in 1798. The abbot took refuge in an old tunnel where he was scented by bloodhounds. So well was the place built the English could not get at him the English stayed there so long that the abbot died with hunger.
