  1. 50 yrs. ago in this district long before motor cars came out every farmer had to give hay and oats for the priests horses because the used travel about on horses. At the present day instead of oats and hay money is given. This is called the "Hay and oats collection".
    If a poor farmer waned a cow from a rich one he would have no money so he would give a couple of sheep or pigs for it instead
