  1. A long time ago boys made their own toys because there were no toy factories.
    They made yo-yoes out of spools, rolled a piece of cord round them and drew them up and down.
    Another toy they made was a pegging top. (drawing) Cord was wound round the top and trown on the ground. It spins for nearly ten minutes.
    Toys were also made for killing birds, one was called a catter pullet and the other was called a slinners. The slinners was made like this. First of all a piece of leather was shaped half square then a piece of cord was tied out of it. A stone
